It’s October ’24. The big white rectangle all artists grapple with, how to begin? The primed canvas is now ready to go… so let’s dive in. As a break from the methods I’ve used so far, here I’ve applied a thin wash of oil colour to give a base. Later on I’m looking to use the colours of summer fruits, blackberries and currents, so my base colour reflects this. The colour is pure pigment with no white added, and this now knocks out the white canvas board.
